About Agrology

Definition of Agrology

The definition of agrology has changed significantly over the years. The Agrologists Act defines "practicing agrology" as "teaching or demonstrating the science or art of agriculture or advising or conducting scientific experiments and research in relation thereto as a chief occupation". With this traditional definition the standard educational qualifications for membership became a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture with related experience.

What is an Agrologist?

An Agrologist is simply a professional agriculturalist. Agrologists are currently referred to as university graduates who advise, teach, investigate or publicize the sound principles and practices of agriculture.
