Spring Tour
Canadian Agriculture Literacy Month
Dear NSIA Members,
In the month of March, volunteers from our agriculture industry will be visiting Grade 3 and 4 classrooms across the province to talk about agriculture in Nova Scotia and their own personal career journey. Canadian Agricultural Literacy Month began in Nova Scotia and is now a national initiative sponsored by Agriculture in the Classroom-Canada. It’s an important way we build public trust in our farming sector by educating students about where their food comes from, what agricultural careers look like, what agriculture in Nova Scotia looks like, and why it’s an industry they should be proud of.
If any members are interested in visiting a classroom, please contact Dawn Barrington-Hodgson at ag.education@novascotia.ca by February 28. Members who are interested in participating will receive an information package and be linked up with a school.
Thanks in advance for sharing this request with your membership,
Dawn Barrington-Hodgson
